Walking into your first group fitness class can be both exciting and a little intimidating. You might wonder: Will I be able to keep up? What if I don’t know what I’m doing? Is everyone else going to be fitter than me?
Take a deep breath—we’ve all been there. And at Shark Bite Fitness, we’re here to tell you: you’ve got nothing to worry about.
Your first group class is less about “crushing it” and more about showing up, getting familiar with the flow, and learning something new. Whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or getting back into a routine, here’s what you can expect—and how we’ll support you every step of the way.

1. A Warm Welcome
At Shark Bite Fitness, we’re big on community. From the moment you walk through the door, you’ll be greeted by friendly coaches and fellow members who remember what it was like to be new.
You won’t be left to figure things out on your own. One of our coaches will introduce themselves, help you get set up, and explain everything you need to know before class starts.
2. A Clear Breakdown of the Workout
You’ll never be thrown into the deep end without guidance. Every class at Shark Bite Fitness is coach-led, meaning we walk you through:
- What the workout is
- How to do each movement with proper form
- How to scale or modify it based on your fitness level
- How long will the workout last, and what can you expect during each part
If something feels too hard (or too easy), we’ll help you adjust it—no pressure, no judgment.
3. A Judgement-Free Zone
Worried about keeping up with everyone else? Don’t be. One of the best parts of group fitness is that everyone is focused on their own journey.
Our classes are filled with people of all ages, body types, and experience levels. Some are seasoned members; others are brand new, just like you. What matters most is that you’re there, doing your best.
No one is judging. Everyone is cheering you on.
4. A Supportive Coach By Your Side
Our coaches are there to guide, motivate, and encourage you. They’ll offer tips on form, help you scale exercises if needed, and check in with you throughout the workout.
You’re not expected to be perfect—you’re just expected to try. And we’ll be right there with you.

5. A Feeling of Accomplishment (and Maybe a Little Soreness)
After your first class, you’ll likely feel proud, energized, and maybe a little sore. That’s totally normal! It means your body is waking up and adjusting to new challenges.
Most importantly, you’ll walk out knowing you did something for yourself, and that’s a powerful feeling.
