There are not enough good things that I can say about Sharkbite! I was in my late 40s when I first stepped foot inside this gym. Scared was an understatement. I was not only out of shape, I was contending with severe knee trouble. The owner and coaches literally put all my fears aside and help me every day! There is such a camaraderie here. If you want to work out in an environment, that is welcoming, will safely push you to your limits, and keep you accountable, Sharkbite Fitness and Nutrition is where you need to be!

This gym is so welcoming! I love their different options of classes! You can do a quick 30 minut hiit class, Metcon, hyrox, or bodybuilding (flex). The coaches are engaged with members the entire class and you can tell they care.

Pretty cool spot... Great for locals or snow birds. There are tons of rotating coaches that lead the workouts so lots of different voices correcting your form. I highly recommend this gym for anyone weak or strong 💪🏼

My name is Sean and I came to Shark Bite a year ago, at age 59, with torn cartilage in 1 knee and a herniated disk in my lower back. I had all but given up on returning to an active lifestyle enjoying various sports because it was taking me 15 minutes to stretch just to get out of bed in the morning. Almost constant pain had become my norm. A friend had been telling me about the unique community at Shark Bite for a long time, and I decided that I was going to sign up for three months and do whatever Coach Val told me to do as a last ditch effort to avoid back surgery. I made a short commitment and was skeptical, but I showed up for every appointment. It was embarrassing to appear weak. It was a slow and painful process. But being in pain and being injured are 2 very different things. Coach Val did not let me injure myself. She has an uncanny ability to evaluate a client and understand where their growth is and where their limits lie. After three months I was doing things, carefully, that I thought i would never do again. I started going to the Metcon and Flex classes. After another 4 months I was back to windsurfing and playing tennis. Just a few months ago I was skiing in the Alps on a bucket list vacation and and had my whole family with me, enjoying a passion that I thought was lost. I had small goals that turned into big goals. I did the work. Mostly I just showed up and put myself in the hands of a team of coaches that make any class feel like a personal training session. Their passion for helping people reach their potential comes through in every class, every conversation and every interaction. Val, Nick and Josh make a unique team that brings expertise, unbridled enthusiasm and passion for serving others that has blown me away and kept me out of the surgical suite. Trust them, trust the process and make a small commitment to yourself. You and your future are worth the effort!

SharkBite Fitness & Nutrition is truly an incredible gym! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the trainers and members alike. The coaches are knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping you feel strong and confident. Since joining, I’ve learned so much about strength training, and my confidence has grown with every session. Beyond the workouts, the gym offers athletic recovery services that have been a lifesaver when I’m feeling sore, as well as nutrition coaching that helps reinforce the importance of fueling my body properly. The community here is down-to-earth, encouraging, and always pushing each other to be better. I don’t get up this early for just anything, so trust me when I say this gym holds a special place in my heart. If you’re looking for a gym that will challenge you, support you, and help you grow in every way—SharkBite is it!

Sharkbite is unlike any gym I’ve ever been to! I’ve tried several big name gyms in the past, paid for months of membership and only ended up going a few times because I felt out of place or judged. Sharkbite feels like a community and they are so accepting! I’ve been a member since the middle of November 2024. I’ve been consistently going 4-5 times a week since then. I’ve lost around 25lbs in the last 3 months and gained so much strength 💪🏻

At 56 I thought it would be impossible to lose the menopause belly and excess weight.... until I found SharkBite! I did private lessons at first so I could learn the movements and build up some endurance. Then graduated to group classes. I now have over 100 classes in and I'm not sure why I waited so long to join. I've dropped about 10 lbs and 5% body fat in 7 months. It's not a quick weight drop and that's ok. I feel great, my clothes are getting looser, and I improve my movements, strength, and flexibility with every class. This time last year I definitely would not have been doing handstands! I love being able to keep up with my grandkids! I am so grateful for the awesome coaches (especially Val and Rachael)!

Pick a time that works for you. It's free, it's in person at the gym, and it takes about 30 minutes.

  2. Sit down with a coach

Tell us what you're trying to fix. Bad knee, no time, haven't worked out in years, all of it. You'll see the gym and probably meet a few members while you're here.

  3. We'll tell you what we'd do

Group, semi-private or private, depending on what you need, and the exact price for it. Nobody's gonna push you into anything that isn't right for you.

Common questions

What do members say about training at Shark Bite Fitness?

Better to let them tell you. These are from our Google reviews. Brandi, March 2026: “I was in my late 40s when I first stepped foot inside this gym. Scared was an understatement. I was not only out of shape, I was contending with severe knee trouble. The owner and coaches literally put all my fears aside and help me every day.” Sean, March 2026: “I came to Shark Bite a year ago, at age 59, with torn cartilage in 1 knee and a herniated disk in my lower back. After three months I was doing things, carefully, that I thought I would never do again.” Allison, March 2026: “You can do a quick 30 minute hiit class, Metcon, hyrox, or bodybuilding (flex). They have great programming for all levels of fitness with multiple workout options each day.” There are a lot more on our Google profile.

Will I be judged or feel out of place?

That’s the fear almost everybody shows up with, and it’s the thing we work hardest on. Our standard for hiring coaches is that they have to genuinely lose it with excitement when a new member jumps on a box for the first time. No screaming, no bro-tank culture, nobody watching you in the mirror.

I'm completely out of shape and haven't worked out in years. Is this gym for me?

That’s most of the people who walk in here. Every workout gets modified, which means the movement stays the same and the weight, reps and range change to fit you. You will not be the only person modifying something. Honestly, if you already lift heavy and feel at home in a commercial gym, we’re probably not the most exciting fit for you.

Am I too old to start? I'm in my 40s, 50s or 60s.

No. A good chunk of our members started in their 40s and 50s, and some later than that. Age mostly changes how carefully the plan gets built and how closely somebody watches your form. That’s the part a coached gym is actually for.
